Basics of pointing devices

Friends, Today I am going to give you some basics information about pointing devices.

Some important pointing devices are as follows 

1:-Mouse

2:-Joystick 

3:-Trackerball 

4:-light pen

                        Mouse 🖱

Mouse is the most commonly used curcer control device.mouse is a small box  in which a round ball is kept at the bottom.it has two or three pressing buttons on top. mouse is used to control the curcer on the screen easily  as the mouse moves across a flat surface,  the pointer moves on the screen  can't send text with mouse,      so it is used with keyboard.

                       Joystick 

It is a pointing device that moves the curcer on the monitor screen. It is made of a stick which has a round ball at both the top and bottom ends as shown in the picture. The round ball at the bottom rotates in the socket, the joystick can be rotated in all four directions.  It is  mainly used for computer aided designing (CAD)  and playing games on the computer 

                         Trackerball 

This input device is mainly used in place of mouse in laptop computer and notebooks, this ball is half inserted and the pointer is moved by rotating the fingers on this ball, it is considered better than many times.   Because in this the hand and arm have to move less and for this less space Is needed.

Difference between trackerball and mouse

Following is the difference between trackerball and mouse

3=Trackerball has a compact shape compared to a mouse 

4=Trackerball is best suited for portable computers

5=You can place trackerball anywhere, ie on your palm, or LAP

       

                        Light pen 

A light pen (like a pen) is a pointing device with the help of which menu items appearing on the screen are selected or pictures can be made. It consists of a photoshell and an optical system placed in a small tube. When its tip is moved on the monitor screen and the pen distribution is pressed, the sensing element of the photocell senses the location of the screen and sends the detect signal to the CPU.
